The Shack by William P. Young

Eugene Peterson says, "This book has the potential to do for our generation what John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress did for his. It's that good."

It's an easy read with a deep think... The kind of book that keeps coming back to my mind in interesting & challenging ways. It's caused me to re-think aspects of my relationship with God, with others & God-size love. The author is from Canada & wrote the book for his family... I'm thankful he dediced to share it with us all.

A few quotes from the book...
"So many believe that it is love that grows, but it is the knowing that grows. Love simply expands to contain it. Love is just the skin of knowing."

"An awful lot of what is done in my name has nothing to do with me and is often, even if unintended, very contrary to my purposes."

"All I want from you is to trust me with what little you can, and grow in loving people around you with the same love I share with you."

"...if anything matters then everything matters. Because you are important, everything you do is important. Every time you forgive, the universe changes, every time you reach out and touch a heart or a life, the world changes; with every kindness and service seen or unseen, my purposes are accomplished and nothing will ever be the same again."

It's the type of book I will re-read... or discuss or continue to reflect on; for it gives expression to the magnitude of the God we serve & how limited our perception of Him is for now.

Thanks for the book review. I am going to read it. Both you and Glendyne recommended it highly.

I too heard from others that it was a "must read"... & to be ready for a range of emotions. I wasn't disappointed.
