"Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it..." Malachi 3:10 Have you ever wondered what God's floodgates might look like & what opening them would hold for us? The God of the Universe who asks to be first in our lives... in our thinking, our spending & our day to day life happenings. He asks us to test Him & that involves trusting Him. Trusting Him enough to be there for us... when there's nothing & nobody else to turn too. Or maybe trusting Him first before turning to everyone and everything else. Jeremiah 29:10 says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." God shares those promises with us so that we can test Him and see afresh how great He really is. Last year, our quiz team had a motto we hated: "settle for second" they would say & smile; because they knew how much we disliked that phrase. There's nothing wrong with second... if we're striving & doing our best, but to settle for it before we even begin :( That thought makes me think of how many times I do just that in my spiritual life. It's my desire to live in the blessing of God's fullness & richness & not settle for less than the best He has planned for me...
