10 minutes from home, but returning to civilization...

Returning home after the camp season, I was tired but thankful for summer camp weeks & seeing God work in hearts & lives... probably at a faster pace than normal. God continues to work in me & challenge me with the thought: "the difference one can make" for Him & His Kingdom. It's so easy to think 'what can I do?' instead of gripping hold of Philippians 4:13 & seeing where God might take us. The gift of a book: "Same Kind Of Different As Me" brought home that truth so well revealing an unexpected & life-changing kind of love. Recently I read of Irena Sendler's life story & how she rescued 2,500 kids changing their world & history forever. This journey is exciting... what can God do with me, when I pull out the 'stops' from His work & pray: God, show me where I can make a difference for you? I don't have this idea all together yet or even understand totally what it means, I'm just beginning... but stepping forward trusting.

It's involved sponsoring a teenage girl in Cambodia through House of Rescue, serving at camp, thinking through renting a house for money or ministry, re-thinking the want of a new computer, diving into leadership roles in Bible studies without so much consideration for the time they will each take from my week... Balancing my time is important, & God does want us to choose wisely. I still need unhurried quiet time alone with Him, but He is able to do so much more through my efforts than I can even imagine. That's not pride or self-confidence, but Christ confidence... As I look to the future... it's hard to anticipate, even imagine, but so very exciting. Stay tuned for the rest of the story.... cause God hasn't revealed it to me just yet.
