our God story... still in the making.

CSSM (Canadian Sunday School Mission) recently asked for Praise & Prayer Requests both personal & ministry related. This is my personal:

God continues to teach me more of his faithfulness, caring & provision for our needs. My husband & I live in a church manse. While it's a very nice manse, it's concerned us that in a sense we are "homeless", building no equity, & desire to be wise in what God has planned for our future. To make a long story short... God provided for us to purchase a house nearby at the exact time the Embridge pipeline was heading our way.... so rental was easy & more than we thought. WE WERE AND ARE MOST THANKFUL...

About that same time, our daughter-in-law emailed to say she was bored one night, Ken was working, & wouldn't it be nice if we lived closer & she could walk over... we emailed back & forth... & thought that was that. Then we discovered some unremembered GIC money coming due & thought how to reinvest it over the next few years. You might anticipate where this is going, & yes we travelled to Ken & Corrie's town... finding one home we thought to be great & in our budgeted price range. So in 2 months time, we now own two homes. WE WERE AND ARE MOST THANKFUL... but there's more.

A new staff guy started working with Ken... planning to sell his home in ON & move his family there. He had placed an offer on our newly purchased home, but with it being conditional the sale of his home, that didn't come to be. Being a Christian, he couldn't understand the "why's" of it, or what God might have planned for him, but was able to rent his home back east, so all seemed good. On the day that he shared this part of his life story with Ken & said that they were now planning to rent - that was the very same day we signed the papers on that very same house.... figure???!!! Ken's next question to his co-worker was if he might want to rent that house he had once placed the offer on... & so they plan to move in later in the month.

We're reminded of the verse in Matt 19:29 "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life." It's like God said... you're concerned about having a house? well... here's two...! All praise to God! WE WERE AND ARE MOST THANKFUL!!

Our God is so good... so strong & so mighty... there's nothing our God can not do for you! His will & His ways work. And you know what? Should some part of this story not play out the way we now think it might, God still is most faithful! WE WERE AND ARE MOST THANKFUL!!

I'm having trouble publishing the last 3 sentences & think they may be the most important... so let me conclude with: in the name of JESUS, I publish this.
