Anticipation mostly...

Anticipation seems to be the flavour of the moment... that thought is exciting mostly, a bit scary in parts & genuinely holding my attention. It's that time of year again where camp staff is coming together... mostly encouraging, a bit scary in parts & full of surprises. Last week I had the opportunity to visit Briercrest Bible College to connect with our new Program Director & meet a new staff team member who will be joining us for the month of July. What a blessing to hear how God is working in lives & encouraging hearts!! What a blessing to see young leaders eager to serve!!

From there I headed to Dallas Valley Ranch Camp in Regina to meet with camp staff & directors from our province. A short time: Monday-Wednesday filled with sharing, prayer, encouragement, fun & hearing from those who have served in this position much longer than me. They share transparently the good & tough times. They also offer prayer support & help in practical ways. They're there... & understand the mixture of situations we encounter; sometimes on a daily basis.

So, I'm reminded again... this ministry & camp are not mine but God's. He is the one to equip, empower & change lives. We have a responsibility to be faithful & obedient... but it's all HIM!! Praise God!! He doesn't require us to be 'super' in our roles; just willing vessels to be shaped by His hands more into His image. So, holding fast to that thought excitement moves to the forefront & exciting things are happening... let me share a few:
-5 schools are registered to come to LBC for a School Camp Day experience in June... that more than doubles the 2 schools who have attended the past two years. We're also in conversation with one more school & will keep you posted.
-a BBQ, laser tag equipment & slurpee machine were gifted to our camp!!
-the remainder of our paintball equipment is purchased & ours!! Maybe I will work up the courage & make it out to the paintball field yet. A youth from our town... when talking about that possibility said: 'we won't hurt you too much'. It's that thought that has kept me on the sidelines so far:)
-our staff team is encouraging at present. There's still some gaps & we're trusting God to give us wisdom & direction as He pulls us & our team together.
-our chapel/all purpose room should be finished before the camp season begins... just waiting now for the snow to melt & temperatures to make painting workable.

I thank you again for your prayer support & gifts. It means much & is a great reminder of what it means to be part of the family of God! So, as we approach this Easter week & season, may you be filled with fresh awareness of the love of our risen Saviour who conquered death for you & me. Through that victory, He extends to each of us the gift of not only eternal life with Him one day, but enjoying a life blessed & full of all He intended here & now. Praying that decision is settled in your heart & mind; so that Easter is a day of true celebration!!!!! Hosanna to the KING of KINGS!
